Archive & History Project - Document the history of SESS from its beginning. The project will include researching the past 20 years of SESS and creating an archive to be able to preserve future documents of the agency.
Grant Researcher – If you like to surf the net, then this might be the job for you. We are looking for someone that can help us find grants that go with our mission statement. You do not have to write the grant, just let the Executive Director know what you have found. This can be done in the comfort of your own home.
Newsletter Editor – If you like to write and be creative, you can help us with our quarterly newsletter. We do the newsletter in March, June, September and December. You must be available to meet with the staff to go over the content of the newsletter before it is due.
Office Assistant – You will be helping the staff with various office duties such as filing, data entry, making calls. You might also be asked to deliver special event fliers to businesses, or educational materials like brochures, family booklets or posters to other community organizations. Hours for volunteering as an office assistant depend on you, but you must have availability between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Speaker's Bureau – Help educate the community about the agency and what we do by making presentations at service clubs, community organizations or other gatherings. Training will be provided
Special Events – Help with organizing events like our Art & Poetry Contest, Survivor Candlelight Vigil and other fundraising events.
Survivor Speaker – If you have lost someone to suicide and would like to help in preventing further suicides, become a Survivor Speaker for us. You would be going to schools and other venues and telling your story. Training is provided. Certain requirements must be met before becoming a Survivor Speaker; please contact Patty Lloyd at 978-8106 for more information.
